Who We Help

We help two types of adults 40+

Pick the one that sounds like you. Your choice carries straight through to the booking form — you won't be asked twice.

Your First Visit

What actually happens at the free assessment

Most people who call us aren't worried about the price. They're worried about being embarrassed, being hurt, or being sold to. So here is the whole hour, in advance.

What we will do

  • Sit down and talk through your history, your surgeries, and what you actually want to be able to do again
  • Watch how you move through a handful of simple, comfortable patterns
  • Walk you round the studio and introduce you to the trainer you'd actually work with
  • Tell you honestly whether we're the right fit — and where else to look if we're not

What we will not do

  • Ask you to work out, change clothes, or prove anything to anybody
  • Put you in a room full of people half your age
  • Pressure you to sign anything on the day
  • Require a doctor's referral before you come in
30-Second Self-Check

Is IronFlex right for you?

Three questions. No email required, nothing sent anywhere — this is just for you.

1. Which sounds most like you right now?
Question 1 of 3

You're exactly who this studio was built for.

Why this matters

Losing strength as you age is common. It is not inevitable.

Research suggests adults lose roughly 3–8% of muscle mass per decade after 30, with the rate accelerating after 60. That loss is what turns a stumble into a fall, and a fall into a hospital stay.

The part almost nobody is told: strength training has been shown to build muscle at any age — including after a joint replacement, and including if you have never lifted a weight in your life. What that looks like for you depends on your own history, and it is exactly what the assessment is for.

Inside the Studio

A full team, not a one-man operation

Multiple trainers, multiple clients, every session one-on-one. This is a normal weekday morning at 20 Western Blvd.

Twenty-three photographs, every one a real IronFlex trainer or client. No stock photography anywhere on this site.

Meet the Team

The people you'd actually work with

You get one dedicated trainer who knows your history — not whoever happens to be on shift. We'll match you at your assessment.

Gina Carroll, Training Manager at IronFlex Fitness

Gina Carroll

Training Manager

NASM-CPT — Certified Personal Trainer · Corrective Exercise Specialist

Six-plus years coaching, and a former women's lacrosse coach at Holy Cross. Gina runs the training floor and sets how our corrective-exercise and post-rehab work is programmed — the standard behind every client who arrives with a surgery or a long-standing flare-up behind them.

Michael O'Rourke, Trainer at IronFlex Fitness

Michael O'Rourke

Trainer

NASM-CPT — Certified Personal Trainer · Corrective Exercise Specialist

A decade in strength training. Michael is who we pair with people who have never touched a barbell — patient, form first, and in no hurry to add weight before you're ready for it. His corrective-exercise work means the programming adapts around old injuries instead of ignoring them.

Connor Crouse, Owner and Director of IronFlex Fitness

Connor Crouse

Owner & Director

ISSA-CPT — Certified Personal Trainer

Twelve years coaching — injury-adaptive training, strength and conditioning, weight loss and corrective exercise. Connor built the studio around one-to-one coaching for adults who want to stay strong and independent, and he sets the standards the floor runs on.

Questions

The things people ask before they call

What does training actually cost?
Sessions are bought as paid-in-full packages, and the price per session comes down as the package gets larger. We'll give you exact figures at your assessment — in writing, with no obligation to book anything on the day. If the numbers don't work for you, we'd rather you know that in the first hour than three weeks in.
I've had a knee replacement. Can I still train here?
Yes — that's a large part of what we do. We work in partnership with local physical therapy clinics and design around your limitations rather than ignoring them. Come with your walker, your cane, or straight from your last PT session.
How long is the free assessment?
About an hour. That's a movement and strength screen, a conversation about your history and what you want back, and a short taste of how we'd train you — not a sales pitch with a stopwatch.
I haven't exercised in years. Am I too far gone?
No. Most of our clients started exactly where you are. The assessment exists precisely so we can meet you at your real starting point rather than an assumed one.
Can I use my HSA or FSA?
Many of our clients use TrueMed to explore this. Whether your plan qualifies depends on your own circumstances and your plan administrator — we can point you to TrueMed's screening, but we can't determine eligibility for you, and nothing on this page is tax or medical advice.
Do I need a doctor's referral?
No referral needed. If you're currently under a physician's or physical therapist's care we'll happily coordinate with them.
Do you guarantee results?
No, and we would be suspicious of anyone who did. Strength, mobility and recovery depend on your history, your consistency, your medical circumstances and a good deal that is outside anyone's control. What we commit to is a qualified trainer, a programme built around your actual situation, and an honest answer at the assessment about whether we think we can help. The reviews on this page are individual experiences, not a prediction of yours.
Do I need clearance from my doctor?
You don't need a referral to book. If you are under the care of a physician or physical therapist, or you're unsure whether exercise is appropriate for you right now, please speak to them first — and we'll happily coordinate with them once you start.
What happens if I need to cancel or pause?
We sell session packages rather than lock-in memberships. The specific terms — expiry, transfers, pausing for travel or illness — are set out in your client agreement, and we'll walk you through them before you buy anything.
Private 1-on-1 only — we take a limited number of new clients at a time
